On July 5, 2011, Prof. Roland Tomb, already appointed by Father René Chamussy, President of USJ, as a candidate, was elected Dean of the Medical School (Doyen de la Faculté de médecine) at Université Saint-Joseph.

Distinguished Lectures
Conference Leadership and Organization
- Dr. Tomb organized high-profile international conferences in Lebanon, including The French-speaking International Congress, The Mediterranean Congress, and The Pan-Arab Congress.
- Organized the 8th and 9th Congresses of the Pan Arab League of Dermatologists in Lebanon and Morocco, focusing on advancements in dermatological research and care.
- Led the organization of a UNESCO-sponsored bioethics symposium in Beirut, gathering experts from over 30 countries to discuss contemporary ethical challenges in medicine.
Keynote and Specialized Lectures
- Invited Professor at Collège de France, Paris: Delivered lectures as an invited professor at the prestigious Collège de France.
- Special Topics in Dermatology: Keynote speeches and lectures at major conferences, including Contact Dermatitis in Cosmetic Dermatology, Systemic Complications of Dermatological Treatments, and Ethical Challenges in Dermatology.
- Presented annually at the Journées Dermatologiques de Paris and other international gatherings.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) for Physicians: Conducted CME lectures for dermatologists, general practitioners, and specialists in Lebanon, France, and Switzerland, focusing on recent developments in dermatology and medical ethics.
Session Chair and Panel Participation
- Session Chair at International Congresses: Chaired dermatology sessions at events such as the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and the Middle Eastern Congress for Dermatologic Surgery.
- Panel Discussions on Dermatology and Ethics: Led discussions on specialized topics, including Psoriasis Management in Elderly Patients, Ethical Issues in Treating At-Risk Populations, and Advances in Skin Disease Treatment.
Ethics and Bioethics
- University Diploma in Medical Ethics: Established and lectured in the University Diploma program in Medical Ethics at Saint Joseph University (USJ), enhancing bioethical education in Lebanon.
- Bioethics Committees and Public Engagement: Lectured frequently on bioethics as Chair of the Ethics Committee at the Hôtel-Dieu de France and contributed to forums organized by the Lebanese National Ethics Committee.
- UNESCO and International Bioethics Engagement: Represented Lebanon on UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee and the International Bioethics Committee, serving as Vice President and organizing sessions globally.
